Overall responsibility:   Responsible for the preparation and service of meals under the direction of the Head Chef or Sous Chef.  Supports the Option kitchen staff in order to prepare the highest quality of food to our guests and our staff in a safe and timely manner.  Off programs when the kitchen utilization is smaller this position changes to the Property Assistant and is responsible for facilities care working under the supervision of the Property Manager to maintain all the property buildings, systems, grounds, and equipment.  This position is an essential employee.

Key areas of responsibilities in the Kitchen:

  • Responsible for set up and break down of buffet line at meal times.
  • Responsible for cooking all food items to the expectations of the Head Chef or Sous Chef
  • Prepares food for meal times including cutting, chopping, butchering, baking and cooking
  • Ensures that food comes out simultaneously in high quality and in a timely fashion
  • Closing the kitchen to include sweeping, mopping, garbage disposal, washing walls and food preparation areas
  • Maintain a working environment that upholds all federal, state, city, and Serve Safe regulations
  • Perform other duties as needed

Key areas of responsibilities in Facilities/Property:

  • Responsible for grounds maintenance (lawns, trees, shrubs, snow removal, salt/sanding)
  • Assist with freight and food deliveries as necessary
  • Assist with furniture moves as necessary
  • Perform duties as directed by Property Manager to include: painting, light carpentry work, light plumbing work, light electrical work, equipment maintenance and repair, and vehicle cleaning
  • Perform other duties as needed


  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Culinary Degree preferred
  • Food Handler Certification Required
  • 3 years kitchen or catering experience preferred
  • Ability to work independently and part of a team
  • Ability to interact with clients and staff in a cheerful and friendly manner
